As reported by Sports Center last week, Arsenal has completed the signing of former Basel and Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiora for a reported amount of €50 million plus €+-7 million add-ons.
The 22-year-old joins from Bologna having spent only one season with the Italian team, coming from FC Basel the season before last.
He was also integral in the Italian squad that represented the country in the Euro’s and it is left to wonder what would have happened had he not missed their encounter against Switzerland, of which they were knocked out.
Calafiora joins last season’s stingiest defense in Arsenal, conceding only 29 goals in 38 matches, 5 less goals than the champions Manchester City.
The Italian defender will don the number 33 jersey as reported by Arsenal.com.
