Riccardo Calafiora is said to complete his move to EPL runner up Arsenal in the coming week.
The 22 years old Italian defender is reported to move from Bologna in a deal that is said to be +-€40 million plus +-€5 million.
He featured in the latest Euros for Italy, where he scored the only goal as they lost their second match of the tournament, 1 - 0, to eventual tournament winners Spain, an own goal.
Calafiora also got himself a second yellow in that match, ruling him out for the next match against Switzerland, which they subsequently lost, ending their tournament.
He would probably have loved to play against Switzerland, a country he spent 2 seasons at, playing for FC Basel.
Bologna acquired the defender for €3.4 million from Basel, and the Swiss club is reportedly to receive 50% of the monies made from the sale.
The Italian defender would be a very good acquisition for Mikel Arteta’s rich defense that proved superior in the previous season, conceding the least number of goals in the league, 29, 5 less than title winners Manchester City.
